Durgesh Haridas

Durgesh Haridas is a freelance screenwriter and Creative Producer at The Studio Madras. Durgesh finds interest and is experienced in digital media. He is from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, in India. He completed his High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificate from “Our Own High School, Al Warqa’a, Dubai, UAE. He took a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Biomedical at the Vellore Institute of Technology. He later did a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from “Asian College of Journalism,” where he gained core journalism skills and various new media concepts and technology, with a real-world application of these skills.

Durgesh Haridas has been a Biomedical Engineering intern (Dec 2009 to Jan 2010) at the American Hospital, Dubai, where he gained aspect in maintenance and minor repairs of medical equipment. He later worked as Business Development Manager (BDM) in Chennai Area from Sep 2013 – May 2014. His responsibilities were to evaluate potential target areas, handle the end-to-end process of building a new branch, and plan strategy and content for marketing campaigns. From June 2014 - January 2015, he engaged as Writer-Sub Editor at The Indian Express in the New Delhi Area. He handled the sports social media pages and accounts of Indian Express, created interactive stories, and did live blogging. He worked as Sub-Editor at Cricinfo, Bangalore Area between January 2015 and November 2015, where he wrote stories, edited photographs, and created photo stories, and managed the live blogging activities during games.

Since November 2015, he has been working as Creative Head at Madras Stories in Chennai. He does story and scriptwriting for web series, ad films, and promotional videos, creating and producing video content for web and OTT platforms. He also has television commercials, content marketing films, creating video content for internal and public campaigns.

He is multilingual. He knows English, Tamil, French (elementary proficiency), Telugu (professional working proficiency), and Malayalam (elementary proficiency).
