Shakir Subhan

Shakir Subhan was born on 10 April 1991 in Iritty, Kannur Kerala, and is also known as 'Mallu Traveler' is a Malayali travel vlogger and YouTuber of Indian heritage who is well-known for visiting 34 countries before turning 30 years. Shakir completed his primary education at Iritty Higher Secondary School and graduated from Mahatma Gandhi College, Iritty. Shakir has visited countries like Ukraine, Turkey, Bahrain, Ireland, Hungary, France, Nepal, etc., and made vlogs during his visit to those countries are uploaded weekly on his YouTube channel Mallu Traveler. From an early age, he was a hardworking child who began working at 16.

Shakir worked as a newspaper boy, hotel kitchen staff, call center employee, and a supermarket delivery boy back home for a year in Saudi Arabia and two years in the United Arab Emirates as a merchandiser in an Electronics shop. Shakir began this journey with his travel to Nepal from Kerala in 2018 on a budget while hitchhiking 12 days' cashless, covering 5000km, making him focus on the youth's attention. After that, seven countries crossed the road from Kannur to Singapore via Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Malaysia in 65 days of hitchhiking, walking, and using public transport services.

Then in Africa, the trip was through Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda, Zanzibar in more than 56 days. The journey was made entirely using local vehicle facilities. After that, he has gone a trip to Ladakh on a scooter with a cost-effective budget and Kerala to Kashmir solo ride on a Honda Cliq99cc covering Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and Kashmir. In 2020, he visited as a travel vlogger to UAE on a bike as part of his 'Kerala to Europe Solo Bike Ride' expedition on a TVS Apache motorcycle in January.

Though his videos from the UAE during bike rides have earned hundreds of millions of views on his channel, his most well-liked content appeared after the coronavirus outbreak forced him to travel from Azerbaijan to Dubai. More than one million people watched this content of his return trip during the early stages of the pandemic outbreak and his subsequent admittance to a quarantine facility in Kerala, where he shared his concern for NRIs and stated the precautionary measures through his videos gained him wide publicity in Indian media and the world. Apart from sharing his experiences, he also offers exciting giveaways like the chance to visit Dubai with him and a bike for subscribers.

Now he's also a brand ambassador for the TVS motorcycle and gets sponsorship for his travel. He was also taken part in a Documentary film made by Seven YouTubers from across the world in 2020 titled 'Viral Dreams' where depicts the concerns regarding a new virus emerging, Black Lives Matter, the economic crisis, and other contemporary social issues. In 2021, Mollywood's lady superstar Manju Warrier rode with Shakir on a bike ride to promote her movie' Chathurmukham.' Shakir is now gearing up to fulfill his dream of a solo World tour on his customized TVS Apache RTR 200, fondly named 'Amina' as gratitude for his Mother, Kunjamina.
