MK Ramachandran is a popular writer born in Kechery in Thrissur district, Kerala. He was born to Machingal Krishnan Ezhuthachan and Narangalil Vadakkevalappil Devaki Amma in 1953. He completed his schooling at Puttekkara St. Sebastian's School. He did his graduation course from Sree Kerala Varma College in Thrissur and further continued his higher studies at St. Thomas College in Thrissur. KP Narayana Pisharody is his mentor. Pisharody is a great Sanskrit scholar.
MK Ramachandran is a proud recipient of the Kerala Sahithya Academy and it is interesting to know that he got it for his first work. Yes, he was honored with the award in 2005 for his writing, Uttarakhandiloode - Kailas Mansarovar Yatra. In 2001, he went on for Kailas Mansarovar Yatra and wrote his experience and published a book in 2003.
In the same year of receiving the award from the Kerala state government, he published his second book, Thapoobhoomi Uttarkhand. After his Char Dham tour, he started writing this book. He covered important places in and around Uttarakhand. After three years of his second book's release, he published his third work, Adi Kailasa Yathra, in 2008. After touring Om Parvat, aka Adi Kailash, he shared his experience in this book. It took four years for him to release his next book. In 2012, Ramachandran visited Sikkim and also Kinnaur, Shrikant Mahadev and Manimahesh Kailash in Himachal Pradesh. It is to be noted that only Ramachandran visited all the five Kailash in this tour. After a couple of years, he released his book, Nilavum Nizhalukalum, a short story collection. His next work, Dakinimarude Hridaya Bhoomiyiloode got published in 2016. MK Ramachandran’s writings had always impressed the audience and his books are selling in good numbers every year.
