Late P.M. Antony was born in Kerala. He was a Malayalam theatre artist and playwright. Antony started his career as a theater artist in Kerala long ago. But he gained recognition in 1986 when his play Krishtuvinte Aaram Thirumurivu came out. It was a Christian drama, after which the Kerala Church severely reprimanded him, and banned the play for hurting religious sentiments. He was the author of dozens of plays.
He also won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for his Mandelakku Snehapoorvam Winnie drama. Anthony saw many ups and downs in his life. He was a part of many foundations and had immense followers. He also founded a drama troupe, The Suryakanti Theater, which in 2012 created P.M. Anthony Foundation.
He is married to Gracie Anthony and has four children - Anita, Azad, Anil, and Annu. On 22 December 2011, he died at his Pallikkathyil Kanjiramchira residence at the age of 61, after experiencing severe chest pain. His final play was 'American Model Arabikkadalil’; played in November 2011, a month before his death.
