Asokan Charuvil is an Indian short story writer in Malayalam. He was born on May 18, 1957, in Kattoor, Thrissur. He completed his schooling at Pompei St. Mary’s High School in Kattoor, Thrissur, and at Karalam High School. He did his graduation from Sri Narayana College, Nattika, Kerala. He was a teacher at ALP School Chengaloor in Thrissur. He served as an officer in the registration department and was also a member of the Kerala Public Service Commission. Since 2019, he has been the general secretary of Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangham. Ashokan Charuvil received several awards, including Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Oru Rathrikku Oru Paka in 1998 and the Muttathu Varkey Award in 2014.
Some of his notable works include Sooryakanthikalude Nagaram (1987), Parichitha Gandhangal (1993), Oru Rathrikku Oru Pakal (1996), Marichavarude Kadal, Kathakalile Veedu, Daivaviswasathe Kurichu Oru Lakhu Upanyasam, Chimney Velichathil Prakasikkunna Lokam, Kangaroo Nrutham, Asokan Charuvilinte Kathakal, Clerkumarude Jeevitham, Kattoor Kadavile Kroorakrithyam, Chathuravum Sthreekalum, Jalajeevitham, Thiranjedutha Kathakal, Kadalkkarayile Veedu, Amazon, Kalppanikkaran, and Karappan. List of other awards that he has won are Cherukad Award (1986), Abu Dhabi Sakthi Award for Parichitha Gandhanga (1993), Edasseri Award for Oru Rathrikku Oru Paka (1995), Padmarajan Award for Amazon (2010), and Abu Dhabi Sakthi Award for Novellakal (201$).
