Rino Anto is an Indian professional footballer who was born on January 3rd, 1988. He plays as a right-back or defender for Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League (ISL). Born in Thrissur, Kerala, Rino is a student of the popular Tata Football Academy in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand where he graduated in 2008.
From 2008 to 2010, Rino played professionally in the I-League for Mohun Bagan before being released on February 23rd, 2010. Then, from 2010 to 2012, Rino played for Salgaocar in the I-League, scoring once against the East Bengal FC at the Fatorda Stadium during a league match on May 19th, 2011 in which he got the net in the 33rd minute as Salgaocar won 3–2.
Rino also played a match for Salgaocar in the AFC Cup on April 10th, 2012 against Jordan League side Al-Wehdat in which he played only 32 minutes, earning a yellow card, and got subbed off for Augustin Fernandes as Salgaocar lost the match 1–2. After playing two seasons for Salgaocar in the I-League, Rino signed for Quartz of the I-League 2nd Division in their hunt for promotion to the I-League.
After not being able to play for the 2nd Division, Rino joined the Kerala football team which played in the 2013 Santosh Trophy in which they reached the final before losing to Services football team 3–4 by penalties. Then on June 5th, 2013 it was rumored that Rino, together with Wahid Sali, had signed for Mohun Bagan and hence return to the I-League for the 2013–14 season.
However, on June 24th, 2013, it was reported that Rino had been released from Mohun Bagan, as the club could not afford his salary. He made no appearances with the club. On February 25th, 2015, new Indian coach Stephen Constantine included Rino in the shortlist of 32 players for World Cup qualifiers against Nepal. However, due to his injury, he did not make it into the shortlist of 26 players.
