Yumna Ajin is an Indian child artist who is well recognized for her enchanting musical skills. She was born on 29 July 2005 in Vengara, Kerala, where she attends the Iqrah English Medium School. She trained her vocals from a tender age such that she can moderate them to sing songs from diverse genres, including pop, classical, Sufi, Ghazal, folk, and even devotional hymns.
She came into focus when she participated in the second season of Sony TV’s reality singing competition “Indian Idol Junior” (2015). However, she was eliminated at early stages of the contest. She took a year’s break to refine her talent and later contested in the sixth season Zee TV’s musical show “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa l’il Champs” (2006).
Her mellifluous voice captivated the audience and the judges alike, and she finished as one of the last nine finalists. Since then she has performed at more than five hundred events, nationally as well as internationally. She released her first solo ‘Tumhe Dilagi Bhool Jaani Padegi’ on 15 June 2018 on her youtube channel.
She has also lent her voice to Arabic Naats, namely ‘Ya Nabi Salam Alayka,’ ‘Ya Haayu Ya Qayyum’ and ‘Ya Taiba.’ In July 2019, she announced the founding of her Qawali and Ghazal band.
