Shobha Sekhar

Shobha Sekhar is a Program Producer who works for Asianet. Shobha completed her pre-degree course in 1998 from the University of Kerala. In 2001, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Kerala. She did a post-graduate diploma in Journalism in 2004 from Thiruvananthapuram Press Club. She started her career in a web portal, Weblokam. It is the first internet portal in Malayalam. Shobha joined as a sub-editor and a content contributor as a part-time job. She wrote articles about women, literature, art and also worked in the news section. She had also worked as a translator and editor in that portal from 2001 to 2003. While working in the internet portal, she hunted for a job and got it in Asianet Communications Ltd in Trivandrum. She worked in Asianet Communications from 2002 to 2005. She was a program coordinator, researcher, producer and anchor for Asianet’s hit program “Suprabhatham.” She brought nearly 400 guests to the show. 100 personalities appeared in her Suprabhatham Live show and LifeLine Live Suprabhatham by her sincere effort. She had also worked in the production line of Post Mortem, a show based on news.

Later, she joined the Malayalam daily, Mangalam, as a sub-editor. She worked there from 2005 to 2007. She wrote articles and reports for Malayala Manorama’s Vanitha and Kanyaka, fortnightlies. She also worked for Mangalya, a monthly matrimonial magazine and Mangalam’s Sunday special newspaper. Once again, she worked for Asianet Communications Ltd and this time as a senior production coordinator. She worked there from 2007 to 2012.
