Latha Kurien Rajeev

Latha Kurien Rajeev, a South Indian producer, art curator, and art educator. She has done predominant work in the Malayalam and Tamil film Industries. She was born on the 17th of April, 1964. She is the owner of an art Gallery in Trivandrum called ‘La Gallery 360’. She did her Masters’ degree in Art History from Stella Maris College, Chennai. She is currently a resident of Kerala. Her first production was a film called ‘Jalamarmaram.’ The film was directed by T.K Rajeev Kumar. It is a 1999 Malayalam drama film. The film featured P.Balachandran and Aswin Thamy in the lead roles. It highlighted the disregard towards Kerala’s water lifelines. This film won the National Award for the best feature film on the environment and the Best child actor. The film also won Kerala State Film Awards for ‘Second Best Feature Film.’

Latha made her directional film debut with the short film ‘Cologne’ in 2013. This film was written by Deepti Nair. It was ‘A Blue Mermaid Pictures company’s first short film. In 2012, she directed an experimental film called ‘Who Am I’ in Malayalam. This film was written by Praveen P Gopinath. It is about spirituality in everyday life.
