Jomol is a known name in Malayalam film industry. Though she is a Christian, she rechristened her name as Gowri, owing to her wedding with Chandrasekhara Pillai. Her husband was initially her chat buddy. This couple is blessed with two children, Aarya and Aarja.
Jomol was busy during the latter half of the 1990s. She also endeavored into films as a child artist. She was born as Joma John. The 1997 flick Ennu Swantham Janakikutty fetched her Kerala State Awards in the best actress category. This film also won the best actress award in the Special Jury Mention category at National Awards. Later she gave several hits, including Ustaad, Niram, Punjabi House, Sneham and Mayilpeelikkaavu.
