Rasheed Ummer

The son of veteran actor Malayalam Actor K.P Umeer, Rasheed Ummer is a well-known actor in the Southern Industry. He is known for his roles in the Malayalam and Tamil movies. He was born in Kozhikode and has been active in the film industry since the year 1985. He is popularly known by the name KP Rasheed. He is married to Shaila and currently resides in Chennai. He has two children, Khader R Ummer and Shahnaz R Ummer.

Rasheed has not only established himself in the acting domain, but he has also gained fame in other fields like voice dubbing. He made his acting debut with movie 'Kannaram Pothi Pothi' where he played the role of Suresh. Though he played the role of a hero, he came into limelight after the movie 'Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha' where he played the role of Kannapan Unni. It was an epic movie based on Chekavar warriors and is considered an all time classic in the Malayalam movie industry. The movie was directed by Hariharan and written by M.T. Vasudevan Nair. Though the film primarily revolved around Mammootty, who played the central character, Rasheed being a side actor received accolades for his performance by masses and critics alike. He then moved on to act in three more Malayalam movies namely, 'Sainyam', 'Bheemcharya' and 'Street'. None of them were a mass hit. 

Rasheed then ventured into Tamil movies and in early 2000 has acted in movies like 'Sethu', ' Ilayavan Ilayavan is an Indian music composer who works mai >> Read More... ','Nee Endhan Vaanam', 'Nila Kaalam' and 'Sena'.He disappeared from movies after Sena and became a well-known figure in the television industry. As a dubbing artist, he dubs for 'Prajapathi Dhaksha' from the serial Kailasanatham, which airs in the Asianet channel. Not only does he work in the film and Television industry he has also ventured in the Herbal Oil Business located in Kerala.
