Venugopan is an Indian film director who works predominantly in the Malayalam film industry. He started his career as an assistant director to P. Padmaranjan for his murder mystery, Kariyila Kattu Pole. It was released in 1986. After this movie, he worked on several other movies as an Assistant Director, namely, Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal (1986), Nombarathi Poovu (1987), Innale (1989), Season (1989), and Njan Gandhavarvan (1991). He made his directorial debut with the 1998 Kusruthi Kuruppu starring Jayaram and Meenu. He has since then directed movies like Chonda, Sharja to Sharja, Swaranam, The Reporter, and Sarvopari Palakkaran.
He passed away on 21st June 2024. He was 67.
