Rooh is a Hindi horror serial broadcast on the ZEE TV channel. These one-hour episodes are enough to scare even the bravest of all. Different stories are shown in each episode. One such episode involves a blind girl named Payal. She gets her eyes operated and as soon as she sees with her eyes for the first time, she catches a glimpse of a scary old lady. Her mother is there for her always. After that she sees a dead woman walking while lying asleep in the hospital wing. She talks to a young boy but that boy died seconds ago. She starts seeing that scary lady everywhere and becomes very frightened. Payal tells her mother everything. Doctors think it is hallucinations. They decide to meet a more experienced doctor, Sameer, who can converse with spirits. Payal’s mother tells him everything. Then Sameer assures Payal that they both can converse with spirits. Sameer has a spirit detector. He detects some ghostly presence in Payal’s room. He shows her mother the photographs of the spirit in the room.

The doctor realizes that Payal sees spirits because of the eyes Payal got during the operation. Ria is the donor of these eyes. Sameer locates Ria’s house and listens to the story from Ria’s mother. When Ria was young, she saw an older woman commit suicide by jumping in a well. After that she started seeing spirits. In the end, Ria committed suicide as this drove her mad. While searching Ria’s room, Sameer finds something. As soon as Payal reaches Ria’s place, she remembers her old home and behaves as Ria. This liberates Ria’s soul, but she still meets an accident in which she lost her eyes as the spirits say that she cannot live with her eyes. This is just one of the episode’s stories.

Every episode has a different supernatural story. There are over fifty episodes. Another episode involves the story of a couple, Ranjeet and Mamta. Ranjeet gets promoted, so he buys a new house in Nasik. This is the house Mamta spent her childhood in. But as soon she arrives in the house she starts talking in Tamil, Bengali, and Telugu alternatively. Mamta claims that some spirits forced her to say so and that she does not speak any language other than Hindi. Their neighbors become suspicious when Mamta does not open the door, even after ringing the bell continuously. Three female spirits are shown roaming their house. Finally, Ranjeet finds Mamta killing a chicken and covered in blood. Mamta, on regaining her consciousness, becomes scared. She keeps shifting between the Tamil speaking woman and herself. They go to the doctor. There is a symbol on the wall where they hung their picture. The same symbol is seen on Mamta’s back.

Mamta’s aunt comes to live with them. She tells Ranjeet that Mamta’s parents went to three women who did black magic to save their daughter’s life. The three women ask for Mamta’s life to elongate their lives. But her parents tell her aunt to take her and run away. These three women are now back in the form of spirits. One spoke in the Tamil language, second Marathi, and the third Bengali. Mamta decides to sacrifice herself to protect her body from these three evil spirits. Another story involves a girl working in a library. While she is working a ball of paper comes rolling towards her. She keeps following it. She sees a man and after that just vanishes. A new intern named Anushka also sees a man who throws a book at her and handed over a note to call Ram Sehgal. He was the assistant in the same library and is now a writer. He gives an interview and takes up a challenge to stay in the library alone to catch the spirit. He comes to know that one of his characters, a thug, who was awarded death sentence, is still present in the form of a book as Ram stole his story and claimed it as his own. Ram shoots his character dead. But actually, the character has taken over Ram and is living in his body.
