Lenin Rajendran

A renowned name in Malayalam cinema, Lenin Rajendran is a film director and screenwriter. He made his debut as a director in 1982 with the movie titled Venal, as an assistant director to P.A. Backer. He does not succumb to market pressure and has been consistent with delivering quality films. Since he is an active member of the Communist party, he inculcated his political knowledge into a film called Meenamasithile Sooryan in 1985.

His other films include Swathi Thirunal, Anyar, Vachanam, Rathri Mazha This is Malayalam opera aired on Flowers Tv. The f >> Read More... , and Edavappathy. His films have received several awards in various categories such as Kerela State Film Award for Best Film, Best Director, Second Best Film and Best Film with Popular Appeal and Aesthetic Value.

In 2017, Lenin directed Pinpe Nadappaval, a segment in the anthology film Crossroad. The film featured Anjana Chandran, Joy Mathew, and Sagar in the lead roles. Lenin was the Chairman of the Kerala Film Development Corporation. In 2019, he had a liver transplant. After this transplant, his health deteriorated, and he breathed his last on 14th January 2019. Lenin was married to Dr Ramani, and the couple had a son, Gouthaman and a daughter, Parvathi.
