Kavya Ramdas

Kavya Ramdas is a Malayalam creative head who likes to experiment with different angles of media. She is inclined towards creation, conceptualization and setting standards in the field. Blessed with the right blend of intellect and professionalism, Ramdas wishes to scale heights in her chosen field continually.

Ramdas completed her schooling at Providence Higher Secondary School. In 2009, she enrolled with M.O.P. Vaishnav College for Women to pursue a bachelor’s of science in design and visual communications. While in college, she specialized in advertising, graphic designing, photography, media management. She was also adept at scripting, television production, layout and publication designing, psychology, etc.

In 2013, Kavya earned a certificate in creative writing at St. Xavier’s College, whereby she focused on writing flash fiction, narrative writing, critiquing, and descriptive writing. The following year, she pursued a postgraduate diploma in film, television, and digital media production at the Xavier’s Institute of Communication, Mumbai. Her areas of specialization included cinematography, directorial practice, sound, production, editing etc.

The creative director interned at Flames Advertising Pvt Ltd as a creative visualizer in Chennai in 2009. During her internship, Kavya learned about the operations of an ad agency, how to make a marketing plan for a product, drafted pamphlets and designed logos. She interned as an assistant photographer at Joseph Mathew Daniel Photography Pvt Ltd in 2010.

In 2011, the creative-head served as an ad sales executive at Zee Entertainment Enterprise Ltd. Her responsibilities included looking after ad sales for Zee Café, Ten Sports, and Zee Studio.

After that, Ramdas joined Sunshine Production as an associate creative head, working for the Colors TV show Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha Season 2. Her role entailed providing creative inputs for story and screenplay, coordinating between screenplay and scriptwriters and the creative head. She oversaw the appearance of the characters and the costume design. Along with that, Ramdas also looked after set-ups, set coordination, and character artist casting.

During her stint with Fortune Productions in 2014, Ramdas served as an associate creative head for Beintehaa. Her role involved handling all goings-on on the sets, looking after post-production, supervising the delivery of extra bytes and other necessities.

In 2015, Ramdas switched to Viacomm18 Media Pvt Ltd, where she heads programming.
