Rahul Menon

Rahul Menon is a passionate freelance cinematographer who comes from the land of Kerala. He has been a dedicated storyteller through visuals since the start of his career in 2010. His journey is marked by a deep love for the art of cinematography, an unbreakable commitment to visual storytelling, and a desire to be a part of dynamic and energetic creative groups. Rahul's academic foundation in the field of film and cinematography was at the prestigious Centre for Research in Film and Television (CRAFT) in New Delhi from 2009 to 2011.

Placed in Delhi, CRAFT is known for its quality education and hands-on training, with instructors coming from the esteemed Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Rahul's time at CRAFT not only equipped him with the technical skills needed for cinematography but also grew in him a passion for the craft that would shape his career. Before going into cinematography, Rahul pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit from 2006 to 2009. Initially, painting was a hobby, but it gradually became a big part of his life.

The Bachelor in fine arts gave Rahu a rich understanding of various art movements and patterns, which became a valuable asset in his role as a cinematographer. This background enabled him to select and make many visual stories with a good understanding of artistic elements. Since August 2010, Rahul Menon has been actively contributing to the Malayalam film industry as a cinematographer. His portfolio covers movies, ad films, and documentaries.

Rahul's professional journey is not only about capturing scenes through a lens; it's proof of his collaborative spirit and adaptiveness in working within a team. Having worked on 12 Malayalam movies as an associate cinematographer, he has gained communication skills, making him a valuable asset to any creative project.
