Adwaith Shine

Mostly known for his involvement in the Malayali cinema as a director of photography and cinematography, Adwaith’s first film as a head cinematographer won the Kerela State Film Award (2 Penkuttikal).

Born on 26th October 1994 in Kottayam, Kerela, India, he was interested in photography since his childhood. After completing his schooling from Alphonsa Residential School, Adwaith went on to graduate from SRM Sivaji Ganesan School of Film Studies, Chennai. In order to expand his base and grab hold of more opportunities, Adwaith moved to Mumbai and trained under veteran photographer Arko Dutta at Udaan School of Photography, Mumbai.

During this time, he made several documentaries and short films. He then came back to Chennai and learned Imaging technologies and Advanced Motion Picture from G.P. Krishna. Adwaith’s directorial debut film was Vahni, featuring his mother as the lead actress. Since then, he has been working as a director of photography for television commercials and short films.

It was recently revealed that the fashion film ‘Atreyi,’ directed by him will be screened at the Film Festival Chicago (Fashion), and Fashion Films RD.
