He is the eldest among the three siblings. Shaji is married to Indira and has a daughter named, Abhirami Thilakan. Shaji used to work as a helping hand for Apollo Tyres in Chalakudy. In the year 2014, Shaji made his acting debut and acted for Malayalam serial “ Aniyathi Aniyathi is a popular Malayalam television serial >> Read More... ” aired by Mazhavil Manorama. He had only starred in one Malayalam film called, Sagara Charithram, which was unfortunately never released. However, Shaji made a mark in television industry with his performance in daily soap Aniyathi, in which he played an antagonist. Shaji’s father, Thilakan was one of the finest actors in the Malayalam Film Industry.

He was an expert stage actor and also a Padma award holder. His father has received three national awards and nine Kerala State Film Awards. Shaji was undergoing treatment for liver ailments at Amrita Hospital in Kochi. Unfortunately, in the year 2020, March, Shaji passed away at the age of 55.
