Dj Vachan

Vachan Chinnappa, popularly known as DJ Vachan, is a Bangalore based DJ, who has been working in the industry for more than 15 years now. Starting from a small metal band, Vachan has ventured into disco-jockeying and has achieved commendable success in the feat. He has played across national and international stages and festivals including the famous “Sunburn” Festival.

Vachan Chinnappa was born and brought up in a small town in Southern India. He had a passion for music since his childhood and after completing his he opted for a un-tread career plan. His family was quite shocked by his decision. Instead of a conventional career, Vachan to be in a Hard Rock Band “Z-Axis” which played covers from 1980’s metal bands. He played as a part of the band for almost five years but had to give it up due to the financial crisis. However, Vachan never go of his passion for music. After a little time of looking for further options in the line of music, Chinnappa eventually took up Disco-jockeying.

Vachan began his career as a DJ with funky house music. He is known for holding the in most of the country’s prestigious clubs and events. After playing this genre for his audiences for some time, moved on to the genus of Electronic music and then to Electro house and then Techno and most recently, Dubstep, and Drum & Bass.

Vachan Chinnappa has played an influential role in the advent of the genre Drum & Bass in Bangalore. He played at the F&B “Bacchus” from the year 2008 to 2011. During this period, Vachan initiated the culture of Drum & Bass Music within the Jockeying Realm in the city of Bangalore. With a huge fan base, that lined up at the club to hear the artist groove his vinyl records. Vachan was successful in creating the space for this relatively new genre in the city.However, he has now moved on to the club “Pebble” in the same metropolis and continues to play there every Thursday.

Vachan is famous for his new advances and differentiating taste of music in the Jockeying field. He has managed to create a special place for himself in the music industry using his exceptional music skills and the ability to understand the crowd moods and making them groove on his music. He has played in some of the country’s most distinct musical platforms including the “Smirnoff Experience”, “The Sunburn Festival”, “The Supersonic Festival”, “Escape”, etc. His latest venture is the will to revive the 60’s funk music titled “Respect the Funk”.
