Srinivas G Ramanagara

Srinivas G. Ramanagara is an established filmmaker and a Director of Photography (DOP). He is passionate about working with the visuals and the narrative in the works that he creates. Srinivas was born 1978 in Bangalore and has built an exemplary three dimensional career for the past twenty years which encompasses hands on and artistic aspects. Each nested shot incorporates his concepts, while every story he puts down articulates the thought that every individual component of a composition is an animate and central feature. Srinivas has his origin from Kuvempu Mahavidyalaya Kengal who undertook his primary learning in attaining a diploma in electronics and graduated with First Class standing in the year 1996.

During this time he also wrote and performed in many plays which led him to his future career in the Art industry. By 2003, he advanced his professional skills in photography and cinematography by obtaining a diploma in film production from the Hindustan School of Technology. Srinivas was one of the early starters with the then budding Kannada television industry as a cinematographer for popular serials like Radha which ran for 1343 episodes. Noteworthy mention is that Srinivas was bestowed the “Best Cinematographer” award by Zee Kannada as he became the first DOP to use the Red Epic camera on South Indian serials. Abandoning any doubts about what career path to pursue, in 2017, he made a giant leap and stepped into the feature film directing world. Yashogiri Chithralaya is his brand and in its framework he directed, shot and produced a Kannada feature film – Ah! (ಅ!). This confirms that he is a very practicing and talented director in the movie industry.

His hard work has earned him the title of a director, director of photography, and a producer making a tremendous impact on him in his pursuit to develop a ‘Making- cinema’ culture. While working on banners of serials like Radha, Parinaya, Srinivas garnered fame for his pictorial narratives. At Kasturi Media Pvt Ltd, he directed and shot one of the most popular Kannada mega serials ‘Parinaya’ aired during prime time. RRR Creations did back ground work with him and it was through them that he first worked on Red Epic camera marking an upward progression in cinematography.
