Jaggi Vasudev is an Indian-Author. Along with being an author, he is also a Yogi. He is born on 3rd September 1957. He is 62 years old. He is Hindu. His nationality is Indian. He is married to Vijaya Kumari in the year 1984. He is born and brought up in Mysore, Karnataka, India. His mother tongue is Telugu. He has two sisters and one brother. He is the youngest kid among all the other kids of his family. His father is an ophthalmologist in the Indian Railway. As he was in this field the family moved frequently from one place to another. His mother was a housewife by profession. He has completed his schooling from Demonstration School, Mysore, and Mahajana Pre-University College.
He has completed his graduation from the University of Mysore in the field of BA in English in the year 1973.He was pressured to do a post-graduation degree as well, but he refused the proposal from his parents and took over a business. He is also the owner of the Isha Foundation. At the age of 25, he realized what is Spiritual life. After that, he handed over his business to one of his dear friends and started his journey towards the search of spiritual being, and life. After researching for complete one year, he decided to get back to the normal life and teach yoga to everyone to gain the peace of mind. His daughter is a trained ‘Bharatnatyam’ dancer and he is very proud of her.
He is much devoted to the social services, in the year 2017, he is honored with the Padma Vibhushana award by the Government of India. His first yoga class consists of 7 students and after that, he found it very interesting and traveled many long distances on his motorcycle to teach yoga. He likes to spread the knowledge which he has gained. Writing books and sharing his experience is counted under his hobbies.
He is the author of various books. Some of the books are named as His Inner Engineering: A Yogi's Guide to Joy, Mystic Mustings, and Death: An Inside Story. In the year 2012, Under the list of Indian Express, he stood of the 92 positions out of 100 most powerful Indians. In the year 2019, Under the list of India Today, he stood of the 40 positions out of 50 most powerful Indians. He also established a yoga center or an ashram for the people who can practice Yoga.
