Based in Washington, DC, Vatsala Mehra, a ghazal/Sufi singer, has more than sixteen albums to her credit and has received recognition from the Indian government for her contributions to the country's musical heritage. Vatsala, often known as the Ghazal Queen, has received accolades for her performances worldwide. Sufi and ghazal vocalist Vatsala Mehra is of Indian descent. Ustad Momin Khan of the Lucknow Gharana taught her how to sing ghazals. In 1980, Guftgu, her debut album, was released. Shamakhana, Khazana I and II, Nigahen, Hasrat, and Nasheeli Peshkash were next released.
In Mclean, Virginia, she manages Balaji Music Academy, her music school. Humse Rootha Na Karo, Meri Dastaan- E- Hasrat, Dekhiye Phir Na Jaiyega, and Aasma Se Utara Gaya are a few of her songs. She received recognition from the Indian government for her contributions to Indian music culture and has subsequently received appreciation for her performances worldwide. Along with her ghazal prowess, Vatsala frequently performs songs from the Sufi tradition, exhibiting her incredible vocal range and optionality.
