Based in Washington, DC, Vatsala Mehra, a ghazal/Sufi singer, has more than sixteen albums to her credit and has received recognition from the Indian government for her contributions to the country's musical heritage. Vatsala, often known as the Ghazal Queen, has received accolades for her performances worldwide. Sufi and ghazal vocalist Vatsala Mehra is of Indian descent. Ustad Momin Khan of the Lucknow Gharana taught her how to sing ghazals. In 1980, Guftgu, her debut album, was released. Shamakhana, Khazana I and II, Nigahen, Hasrat, and Nasheeli Peshkash were next released.
