Nusrat F. Jafri is a cinematographer from Mumbai. She has worked on over 15 feature films. Nusrat was born in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. She completed her education at La Martiniere Girls College. To pursue her post-graduation in mass communication she moved to New Delhi to attend MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia. She worked as a journalist for The Pioneer and CNBC Awaaz. She was also trained as a South Asia Speaks mentee from The First Cohort (2021).
She was highlighted in the second edition of Rising Beyond the Ceiling: 100 stereotype-busting tales of Muslim women in Uttar Pradesh, India. At the Indian Film Festival Stuttgart, the New York Indian Film Festival, and the Sedona International Film Festival her film Pilbhit was presented. She received a nomination for a Critics Choice Festival Award for Pilbhit. She was awarded an IPTDA Award for Best Cinematographer (2022).
