Asifa Kaynat Shubankar is a freelance writer and lyricist who works in the Hindi film industry. Asifa completed her early education in Bhopal at Kamla Nehru School. She graduated from Barakatullah Vishvavidyalaya with a degree in music. Asifa started her career as a freelance lyricist and writer in 1992. Her first project was working as a lyricist for the song Garv Se Kaho Hum Hai Bihari. She also wrote lyrics for the ghazal, Dil-e-Betaab ko Karaar Aaya.

In 2012, Asifa worked as a lyricist for the film Ata Pata Lapata. She wrote the lyrics for two songs, Joban ka Jwar Bhata and Don’t Take Tension. In 2014, Asifa worked as a dialogue writer for the series Phir Jeene ki Tammanna Hai. In 2015, Asifa worked as a lyricist for the film Gulam Bandhu. She composed lyrics for Mere Dilbar Husne Mallika.
