Paras Borgohain is an Indian freelance screenwriter and consultant, notable for his works in the Galli Sim Sim, the Indian version of Sesame Street Sesame Street is a preschool educational TV show t >> Read More... , Roll No. 21, a cartoon series based on the conflict between Lord Krishna and King Kamsa, and many feature screenplays on human interest stories and social issues. From childhood, he wanted to tell stories for public consumption. He developed a great interest in scriptwriting and storytelling. In 2004, he got his bachelor’s degree in English from Delhi University and a 1-year post-graduate diploma in Television and Video Production from St. Xavier’s College. He did many internships in various soap opera production houses and gained hands-on experience in video production, script creation and supervision, and floor management.

In 2006, he worked as a commercial screenwriter on the show Galli Sim Sim, the Indian version of Sesame Street, for three years. It focused on educating children about real-life social issues and development activities. He also created storyboards for various shows and documentaries like Zindagi.com, Knock Out Click to look into! >> Read More... , and Sandesh and drafted campaigns for Nestle brand. In 2017, he again returned to the cartoon genre by writing the screenplay for the popular Cartoon Network series Roll No.21 and Kris aur Aflatoon Africa. He has also written scripts for UNICEF Community Radio.

He enrolled in a screenwriting program at the prestigious University of California (UCLA) in 2018 and started working on various independent projects. Being a talented and seasoned screenwriter, his screenplay Ningini based on a political genre short story, received critical acclaim. It earned him a place at the prestigious 5th Berlinale Talent Campus of the Osian Film Festival. His work, C/O Professor, became famous and got nominated for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab in 2013. He became extremely popular for his contemporary screenplay, Deepest, Darkest, or How Not To Lie, based on the LGBTQIA+ community. His script got him the BlueCat Roshan Award in 2016.
