Priya Bathija or Priya Ashok Bathija is a renowned Indian television actress. She was born on October 30 in Chembur, Mumbai, India. She was known for her portrayal as Afreen Hussain Khan in the soap, Khwais; a drama serial that is based on the Indian Muslim household who resides in Dubai. She also joined the dance reality shows, Nach Baliye opposite Jatin Shah on STAR Plus and Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar on Sony TV. The actress essayed the role of Ganga Walia on Ekta Kapoor’s Kasamh Se on Zee TV. Priya later played as Nandini Parikh on Sagar Arts’ Basera on NDTV Imagine. In the same year, she played as Mallika in the romantic drama series, Kitani Mohabbat Hai which was also aired on NDTV Imagine. Priya was seen in the drama series, Preet Se Bandhi Ye Dori Ram Milaayi Jodi on Zee TV. She made a cameo appearance as Sudha in the Hindi series, Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo on Imagine TV. In 2011, she appeared as Rukmini in Dwarkadheesh – Bhagwaan Shree Krishna, a mythological television series that is based in the life of Krishna. In 2014, she played as Maya in the second season of the teen sitcom, The Buddy Project on Channel V India. After a short hiatus, she bagged the role of Mannat Agnihotri in the television drama show, Ek Boond Ishq on Life OK. She has done another episodic in the television series, Yeh Hai Aashiqui on Bindass channel, where she played as a life coach opposite Karan Jotwani.

In 2013, the actress was starred as Neena, a young and attractive woman in the Hindi comedy film, Chor Chor Super Chor opposite Satbir (played by Deepak Dobriyal).

She took up Graphics Designing and initially, she chooses Fashion Photographer as her profession before she enter the glamour world industry. Indian actor, producer and director Ashutosh Gowariker suggested to Priya to try up acting and she decided to give it a try. She first appeared in Gowariker’s Coca-Cola commercial ad together with popular actor, Aamir Khan. Subsequently, she modeled for brands like Hansel, Fair and Lovely, Vatika and a lot more.In 2004, she made a cameo appearance as Priya in the Bollywood film, Naach under the direction of Ram Gopal Varma which stars Abhishek Bachchan. In 2006, the actress gained fame and popularity after essaying the female lead role as Aanya Shroff, the daughter of the millionaire businessman Kishan Shroff (played by Karan Shah) in the Hindi serial, Jabb Love Hua on Zee TV.  At the time that she was doing the Jabb Love Hua, Priya met an accident on a shopping mall. She accidentally slammed herself in a glass wall and her nose was badly hurt. She was hospitalized and got stitches on her nose. So the production changed the track of the serial and showed the audiences that her character as Aanya had a minor accident. Priya received praises for her dedication to her work since she wanted to continue the shoots even after the day of her accident.After this, she took a hiatus and went missing to the limelight and later in an interview, she revealed that she enrolled in a Kathak class to learn classical dance. She also joined acting workshop with Naseeruddin Shah and later, she attended the Barry John’s theatre workshop. Priya stated that as an actress, she needs more time to enhance her acting skills. She is also now in a look-out for something different and exciting role to come her way, such as the Hollywood film, Dr. DoLittle from where she will be surrounded with animals. However, Priya knows that it is impossible to do shows like that in India, so she is still waiting for her dream role to become real.
