Manasi Kulkarni is one of the most prominent names in Marathi film and Hindi TV industry. Born on 25th January 1990 in Mumbai, Manasi had dreams of making it in the acting world. The road to the acting world wasn’t straight for Manasi. She first ventured towards modeling. She began her modeling soon after graduating. Her amazingly beautiful looks coupled with the talent she has for acting made her a complete package. She began doing photo-shoots mostly in Marathi magazines in Mumbai and became a regular face in many magazines.
Later she started doing print-shoots for many local and regional clothing lines and other brands like Big Bazaar and many others. During her modeling days, she started working in Marathi theatre, there was when her professional acting career started (apart from appearing in commercials). She became one of the most prominent leading ladies in the Maharashtra theatre scene and went on to enjoy more than a decade of an amazing career in theatre, winning several awards along the way. Eventually she knew it’s time for her to jump to the next level, and she started appearing in Marathi TV shows like 1760 Sasubai and Mazhiya Mahera.
In 2012, she made her acting debut on the silver screen with Marathi movie Aghor. The movie was a success both on the box office and in the eyes of the critics. A new format of the original Savdhaan India, which became India’s biggest TV show alongside the likes of Crime Patrol and Kapil Sharma Show, Savdhaan India: FIR will be showing the same gruesome true-crime stories about major awful crimes that take place in India, but through the eyes of the police. Manasi plays the feminist lady cop Prajakta Bhonsle on the show, and the story sees her use her investigative abilities to solve crimes, often when the victims have been females.
