Dheeraj Miglani was born and brought up in Delhi. He did his schooling form Hindu Senior Secondary School Kaithal and completed his graduation from Delhi University. After that he relocated to Mumbai and started his pursuit in acting career.

He first appeared in the serial 'Annu Ki Ho Gayee Wah Bhai Wah' as Jeet which was aired on Star One and then he got a role in a mythological serial Ganesh Leela in which he performed the role of Narad. His performance in both the serials was much praised and he got the coveted role of Himangshu in Chhanchhan which was aired on Sony TV and was produced by Optimystix. Dheeraj played the role of the best friend of male lead Manav (the role was played by Farhan Khan) but he had to drop out of the show for quite some time due to an under eye surgery for removal of a scar under his eye in childhood. The show was a popular one and Dheeraj was praised for his performance in the show. The role was offered to him when he was shooting for Jag Jananee Maa Durga in Baroda and he grabbed the opportunity. The role of Himangshu is of a very simple and innocent boy who even cannot differentiate between a taunt and a praise. He is a very lovable character and a humorous one also. He is a happy go lucky type of person and does not keep anything in his mind for long. He falls in love with girls very easily and these traits in his character leads to various comic situations. Though the character differed a lot from his real character, his portrayal of the character got him a good name as well as fame.

He has also acted in movies like Ashiqui and Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani.
