Shilpa Shukla came into the limelight for her role of Bindiya Nayak in the 2007 super hit movie Chak De India. Though she was born in Bihar, she spent most of her childhood days in Delhi, Kolkata and Gujarat. She is a student of the famous DPS Rkpuram. Soon after completing her 12th board, she joined several theater groups of her college. Early in his days, she worked with famous theater artist Maharaj Krishna Raina. Later on, she turned up for several plays some of them being Final Solutions, Antim Diwas, Tara, Ek Mamooli Aadmi, Rakt Kalyan, etc. She, thus, worked with some of the most notable theater directors at a very early age.

In the year 2003, she marked her Bollywood debut with the movie Khamosh Paani. It was directed by Sabiha Sumar and featured actors such as Aamir Malik and Kiron Kher. She then went to work with director Sudhir Mishra for his film “Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi”.

However, it was the year 2007 that brought some happiness for this talented actress. She was signed for the role of Bindiya Nayak, an attitude driven hockey player for super hit movie “Chak de India”. It was a YRF’s production and featured the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. She even was nominated for various award categories for this role. Recently, she was seen in the movie B.A. Pass alongside actors such as Shadab Kamal, Rajesh Sharma. The film was widely appraised by film critics. At the South Asian alternative film festival (SAFF), the film was judged as the best film and received the award for the same. She also played a pivotal role in the movie Gulaab Gang directed by Soumik Sen.
