Zain Memon

Zain Memon is a storyteller, game designer, media specialist, and producer. Zain was born in Versova, Mumbai. He dropped out of class 12^th  to follow his interests in science, technology, and media. Zain co-founded Memesys Culture Lab, a studio that works on films, board games, and virtual reality. Zain introduced Virtual Reality to India with ElseVR, India’s first Virtual Reality platform that enables filmmakers to tell “extraordinary and urgent stories” in the VR format.

Memon was the Creative Producer for the documentary film “An Insignificant Man,” he also led the most successful crowdfunding campaign for this film in India. The world premiere of the documentary took place at the Toronto International Film Festival. It was also screened at both the BFI London Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival.

In mid 2019, Memon created SHASN,a political strategy board game which is designed to teach how modern democracies work. SHASN was launched on the global crowdfunding platform, Kickstarter on 16 July 2019. In late 2019, SHASN honored with the Social Impact Award at IndieCade Europe, a festival which is referred to as “the Sundance” of the industry. SHASN:AZADI, a sequel to SHASN was co-created by Zain and Abhishek Lamba in october 2021.
