Varun Malik

Varun Malik is a Hindi scriptwriter and storyteller. He studied at Modern School, New Delhi, Delhi, India. He completed his B.Sc. in Animation and Multimedia in 2008 from BIT Mesra Student- Industry Relations Cell. He also did an advanced level course from the British Council India in 2016. He started as a freelance artist in 2007. He worked as a 3D assistant with the Academy of Animation & Gaming on a 3D animation project called Balloony for an international client. He also animated Shera the Tiger for a documentary on Commonwealth produced by UTV. He animated text graphics for Indian Oil and Nescafe coffee.

In 2008, he joined Zee Turner Ltd. as an associate promo producer where he oversaw and produced promos. He created motion graphics for promos. Varun joined Miditech as an associate producer in 2010 where he created ideas for shows, preparing PPTs and other interactive content. He also produced lifestyle show pilots like In the Kitchen with Celebrity, Indian Science Circuit and Chris Saleem’s Boho Kitchen. He produced ‘Chris Saleem’s Boho Kitchen Season 1’ for the food channel Food First. He worked at Colosceum Media Pvt. Ltd. as a senior Reality Producer in 2011.

He produced shows like Real World and Splitsvilla for MTV. He worked as a senior producer for Star TV in 2014. He was in charge of shooting, writing, directing and editing sports feature stories to help build the Indian Sports Icons Images. In 2015, Varun was the Senior Producer at Hotstar where he ideated and produced content for digital shows. Varun is the Associate Director of content Hotstar specials for Disney + Hotstar. He scouts and develops talents, scripts and stories. He oversees the overall quality of content produced.
