Vidhu Vinod Chopra Hindi Actor

Vidhu Vinod Chopra

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is a classic filmmaker, who has given Indian audiences films like Parineeta, Munnabhai MBBS, 3-Idiots, PK and 1942-A Love Story. What distinguished him from other film maker was that, he always wanted to experiment cinema. Both in terms of his script and in terms of mise-en-scene, character development and pace of the film, we believe that most of his films were very successful in box-office. As an FTII student, he always wanted to learn by making his films; he selected films therefore like an intensive program. He has a reputation for being completely demanding during production and his moody, temperamental and control freaks always made him the perfect filmmaker before and behind the camera. He had captured and shown the lovely romance (‘’1942-A Love story’’),which dates back to British period that had hummable songs and the top performances by all actors in the film. In Parineeta (directed by Pradeep Sarkar), it was again love story of Shekhar and Lolita, so pure yet intense at the same time essayed 50 or 60 years back. Again, he made an award winning film like Munnabhai MBBS, which was so replete with laughter and emotions without being soppy. His other films like “3-Idiots”, “PK” or even ‘”Eklavya –The Royal Guard” throw up situations, landscapes and characters that correspond to the life. His success in films only threw up new vistas for his whole team (PK or 3-Idiots). “1942-A Love Story” was the beginning of his splendid journey to an eternity. It is still Chopra’s best film. But “Munnabhai MBBS” remains the definitive Chopra’s classic. Today, his production house remains the only trusted name assuring the public of good family entertainment grounded in social values. Cinema these days have become a major asset to promoting understanding of different regions (PK & 3-Idiots are examples for it); these films will enable us to enjoy the beauty of new relations amongst various people like student-teacher relationship in 3-Idiots and an alien who pokes fun at India’s erring religions in PK. Earlier, Vidhu Vinod Chopra made films like Saazaye Maut, which was an adaptation to his own short film (Murder at Monkey Hill) assigned to him at FTII (film Institute, Pune) and the director made a full-fledged movie on the same script. This black and white film Saazaye Maut (1981), had fetched him a national award. His film PK is the highest grosser movie still and his next production Wazir, directed by Bijoy Nambiar starring Amitabh Bachchan, Farhan Akthtar and John Abraham is expected to release very soon.
