Plot

The film is about an acid attack victim. At first the film shows her as a teenager where she wears a hoodie to hide her face but as the film proceeds she gracefully embraces her identity without hiding it.

Star performance

The star Laxmi herself who was not an actor initially yet gave a top notch performance. She is former director of the Chhanv Foundation and several new films are also made keeping her story as base idea. Her acting skills in the documentary were breathtaking.

Analysis

Being extremely poetic the film delivers its message quite clearly. It gives the audience a peek into the mind of the victim which is still vulnerable and suffering from trauma. Laxmi's character regains sanity of her identity; she is represented more than a victim of acid attack. She is depicted as a strong female lead figure who cluster strength to restart her life ignoring all other irrelevant voices of the society. This documentary is the most realistic example of women empowerment.

What's there?

It is an eight minute motivational documentary, by giving the voice to a female victim director successfully serving the purpose of the film.

What's not there?

There is a lot of symbolism in the film however, the meaning is yet not clear.

Verdict

This is a must watch short documentary film. Being filled with metaphors and symbolism one should definitely go for it.
