Robinson Singh was born on 3rd February 1997 in Manipur, India. Robinson Singh is a footballer who currently plays for TRAU FC, a football club based in Imphal, Manipur. The club operates in I-League and Robinson is one of the main starters of the team. Robinson, growing up idolized special midfield talents like Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Gerrard and Xavi. He himself plays as a defensive midfielder, a position at the heart of the team which protects the defense line of the team from the attack of the opponents.
Robinson started his career playing for the AIFF Elite Academy, where he came through the ranks. He also has made national appearances for the U-16, U-17 and U-19 Indian national teams. In 2015, Robinson had trials at the I-League champions ‘Mohun Bagan’, where he impressed the coaches and signed a contract with the team. Robinson made his debut on 23rd April 2016 against Bengaluru FC as he was subbed on the 87th minute. Mohun Bagan won the match 5-0. After making just two appearances, Robinson was transferred to Bengaluru FC in 2017. At Bengaluru FC, Robinson made ten appearances and scored two goals. The same year, Robinson also made his debut for the U-23 international side and was selected to play in the AFC U-23 qualifiers in Doha.
After Bengaluru FC, Robinson made a switch to his hometown boyhood club TRAU FC. He currently plays there and hopes to raise the level of his game. He aspires to be a better passer of the ball and play almost as a deep lying playmaker. He looks up to the likes of Xabi Alonso, Scholes, Pirlo and Gattusso.
