Karanjit Singh is an Indian Football Player who plays as a goalkeeper for Chennaiyin in the Indian Super League. He was born on 8th January 1986, at Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. Karanjit started playing football from the age of 15. Karanjit’s career has not started well, but 2011 stands out as one of his best. After signing for Salgaocar, he helped the side to its only I-League title win in its history. Karanjit had made his national team debut when he was playing as a substitute in place for the red-carded Subrata Pal and ended on the side of 3-0 defeat.
Karanjit’s career elevated when he played a starring role in India’s 2011 SAFF Cup win. When Karanjit got satisfied with his performance, he had felt that work needs to be done over the team’s performance. Karanjit didn’t have a goalkeeper coach, so he learned from YouTube clips, and by discussing with one of his senior players and by watching all those matches he played to know where he did wrong. Karanjit accepts that ISL Club brings professionalism and these clubs help Indian Football going forward as when he started his career in football only three or four I-League clubs had goalkeeping coach. Karanjit last played for India against Nepal in 2015.
