Rituraj Mohanty, whose native name is Ritu Ranjan Mohanty, is a Hindi singer and actor. He became widely known for his participation in the music reality show India's Raw Star, of which he was the first ever winner. Rituraj was born at Belapada, Nimapada, in the Puri district of Odisha. His parents are Sri Chakradhar Mohanty and Parvati Mohanty, and he was born as their eldest son. His father, Sri Chakradhar Mohanty is a professional musician and also a small-time singer. Sri Sumanta Mohanty, who was a reputed music director in Oriya classical music industry, is his cousin brother. Rituraj kept trying to get a break in the music industry and finally got it when he won the show India's Raw Star. He went on to sing the song Sahib in the Bollywood movie
. Before he participated on the India's Raw Star, he had sung the song Aam Ke Aam Honge in the second season of the reality show Satyamev Jayate.
