Gulshan Nanda

Gulshan Nanda is a well-known Indian poet, writer, screenplay writer. He is greatly appreciated in the Indian film industry. His work is known in the industry, and many of his work have been adapted in movies like Kaajal, Sharmeelee, Kati Patang, Daag, Khilona and many other hit Hindi movies. He was a very famous in the era of 60's and 70s. He has written the screenplay for many famous and appreciated movies. He has even been nominated six times for Filmfare Awards in the category of the Best Story Writer.

Most of his movies had even been a huge hit in the theaters. Gulshan is termed as one of the most highly looked up screenplay writer from 1960-1970. His stories and skills of writing were and are still very much appreciated by the people. His way of unique writing and the way he used the technique of storytelling in his books or in the movies was so efficient that the audience or the reader could connect to it and would flow into the content and the story.

His story telling was so efficient and simple that many directors and novelist used to treat him as their guide and would take help from him with any difficulties or just to make progress in their work. His writing was used in many legendary Hindi movies with the big stars of those times. One such is the blockbuster hit movie of 1970 Kati Patang. Starring Asha Parekh and Rajesh Khanna in the lead role, the movie was based on the novel I Married a Dead Man. Based on the tale of a lady who is pretending to be a widow was even remade in different languages like Punnami Chandrudu in Telugu and Nenjil Oru Mull in Tamil. Before the movie was even filmed in French as J'ai épousé une ombre which means I Married a Shadow, in Japanese as Shisha to no Kekkon and in English as Mrs. Winterbourne. The movie was a huge hit and is still regarded as one the best movie filmed in the history of the Indian film industry.

His tremendous good work kept on increasing day by day, and he delivered great movies one after the other. He has worked with huge banners like the Yash Raj and given many good movies like Khilona, Naya Zamana, Sharmeelee, Mehbooba, Bindiya Chamkegi, Ajnabee, Jheel Ke Us Paar, Nazrana and much more.
