Raisa Padamsee

Raisa Padamsee is an Indian film actress, known for Mani Kaul’s movie Duvidha (1973). She is half Indian and half French. Raisa’s mother, Solange Gunelle, is French and her father, Akbar Padamsee, is a well-known artist and also a painter. Renowned painter, M.F. Hussain, gave Padamsee her first name, Raisa. His own daughter’s name is also Raisa.

Raisa played the role of a silent bride in the movie and also she could only speak French at that time. Duvidha was Raisa’s first and the last movie in Indian film industry as later she moved back to Paris. She married filmmaker Laurent Brégeat, and at present, she lives in Paris with her family.
