He joined the Mumbai based theatre Ekjute and started learning under Nadira Zaheer Babbar. He was spotted by the producers of Cigarette Ki Tarah while performing a play by Ekjute Production. He always wanted a challenging role which he found in his debut movie. He comes from a very humble background back home in Kanpur where his father is a farmer. He draws from his real-life experiences to give depth to his character. His family was initially skeptical about his move to Mumbai but soon accepted his career after witnessing his success. He is a rising star with a lot of scope in the industry. His experience with theatre taught him how to deal with the struggle of becoming an actor. His simple background and upbringing has given him an advantage, as it provides him with a more grounded sense of looking at things. He has only one movie in his book and has much more to come in the future. His upcoming movie with Om Puri would be one more step on this ladder.
