Sunil was a part in 17 Marathi movies. Roles of politicians and cops were tailor-made for him and often he was seen putting life into those characters.Apart from the big screen, his popular television serials include Tara, Rahaat, Andaaz, Kurushetra and Saath Saath.
Sunil married television actress Sandali. Suniljee died at the age of 63 due to a massive heart attack on his way back to Mumbai from Goa. He was shooting for his directorial debut film Sazaa Ek Bhool Ki at that time.
