Sougata Basu

Sougata Basu is a prolific Bangla author, Screenplay Writer, Lyricist, Writer and Dialogue Writer best known for his work in Bengali movies. Sougata was born on 19 November 1980 in Kolkata, West Bengal. He completed his schooling at South Point High School. He then chose a career in Engineering and went on to pursue graduation in Information technology (IT) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Hence in 2005, he joined Tata Consultancy Services Limited as an assistant systems engineer. In 2009 he left TCS and joined IBM India PvLtd.td.

Sougata Basu started his journey in writing when he joined Shibram Chakraborty as a freelance writer in 2014. He also works for SVF Entertainment Pvt. Limited as a writer. Sougata has specialised in thrillers that delve into historical tales. The writer is busy with multiple projects that involve thorough research and history, His work focuses on music, tradition and cultural stories that focus on our history.

From 2019, he completely devoted himself to writing and started working in Bengali movies as a writer, antichrist and screenplay writer. Sougata enters into the Bengali Film Industry with the movies Byomkesh, and Jawekar and goes on with Sagardwipey Jawker Dhan, Karnasubarner Guptodhan and Tenida and Company.
