Abhilash - Lyricist

Abhilash is an immensely popular Lyricist from India. He was born on 13 March 1946 in India. He is known for his work in movies like Laal Chooda, released in 1984; Hulchul in1995, Jeete Hain Shaan Se in 1988. His other movies are Jai Jagannath in 2007, Begum Jaan in 2016, Moksh in 2013, Ankush in 1985, Savan Ko Aane Do in 1979, Zehreeli in 1977, Raftaar in 1975. He passed away because of pancreatic cancer and was unable to access proper treatment due to financial issues. He was cremated in Goregaon at Shivdham. He was married to Neera for 42 years. He has not only written lyrics for films but also TV Serials. His original name was OM PRAKASH. He was extremely passionate about writing in his early childhood days.

He was also a great Screenwriter, Storywriter, Dialogue writer. He is best known for his song “Itni Shakthi Hame Dena Daata” from the movie Ankush. Abhilash started writing poems at the tender age of 12. He had numerous Gazals and Stories published. He worked for almost five decades in the music industry. He worked with great artists in the entertainment industry. He worked with composers like Usha Khanna, Bappi Lahiri, and many more. The legendry song “Itni Shakthi Hame Dena Daata” has been translated into eight different languages and played as an assembly song in reputed schools and universities.
