Deena Nath Madhok is an Indian screenplay writer, composer, director, lyricist, and dialogue writer who was born on October 22, 1902, in Gujranwala, British India, which is now in Pakistan. He was born into a middle-class family where his father worked as a first-class postmaster. He did not complete his B.A. exams, but he did work for the Indian Railways for numerous years. He had taken a keen interest in music and poetry ever since he was a young boy. He had also travelled to Calcutta, attempting to own a music company, but could not do so. He also acted in a movie called Krishna Sudama (1933).
He had a breakthrough in the industry with the film Radhe Shyam Radhe Shyama is a Kannada tv serial which is about >> Read More... (1932) as a lyricist and also wrote the script for the same; he also acted and contributed a total of 29 songs to it. In the coming years, he wrote songs for films such as Khoobsoorat Bala, Nadi Kinare (1939), Musafor (1940), Pagal (1940), Ummeed (1941), Bansari (1943), Nurse (1943), Bela (1947), Bhakt Sudras (1942), and Tansen (1943).
He also contributed to directing movies such as Dil Ka Daku (1936), Dilfarish (1937), Shama Parwana (1937), and Sharafi Loot (1937). In his 30-year career, he has worked on almost 120 films and written over 500 songs. He passed away in Hyderabad on July 9, 1982.
