Sanil Kokate, born Sanil Mahesh Kokate, started his career as an assistant editor is now an acclaimed and well-known editor, assistant director and post producer working in Bollywood and Television industry. Sanil Kokate was born on August 24, 1984 in the City of Dreams, Mumbai. He did his schooling from King George School, Mumbai. As a child, he always had passion for film making, he used to shoot and edit short movies on VHS. He did his graduation from Ramnarain Ruia Autonomous College, Mumbai. Soon after graduation, Sanil began his filmmaking career working as an assistant editor for Ram Gopal Verma's production.

, Naach and many more. He has also worked with many renowned production houses like Razorblade, Another Idea, Purple Flicks, The film company, IDC and more. Sanil was honoured with the National Award by the Indian government for the Marathi movie Bardo in 2021.
