Joydip Roy is an Indian editor. His major works are in the short films as an editor. The talented artist hails from Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Das first worked in the short film DawnSong (2020). Another Bengali artist, Ritwik Goswami directed this film. Das then worked on the documentary short, Portrait of a Willow Woman (2021). It revolves around an indigenous woman’s life in a smal village in Meghalaya. Das then worked on the short film Dagad Ani Paani (2021). His next work was on the short film, A Cheat Day (2022), produced by Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films. The short film tackles the traditional notion of commitment and fidelity.
His next work a Documentary Short about the love of Iranian cinema and poetry. The short film Towards Happy Alleys (2023) gained a lot of attention and critical claim. This short film also earned two international film festival nomiantions. The film’s director Shreemoyee Singh earned a nomination for the Panorama Audience Awards (Documentary Film) at the Berlin International Film Festival. The film also earned the Best Film (International Competition) nomination at the Buenos Aires International Film Festival of Independence. Das then worked on the Drama Short Silan (2023).
