Swati Bhise was born on 21st October 1959 in Mumbai. Swati is a multitalented director, choreographer, dancer, producer and actress and she has worked in both Hindi and American film industry. Swati started out as a dancer after completing her education. She became an expert in the Bharatnatyam and absolutely blazed every competition she took part in. She came to the spotlight after she performed at the Center of Indian Classical Dances in New Delhi. She is the first disciple of not only one of the greatest classical dancers ever but also a Padma Vibhushan title holder Sonal Mansingh.

Swati started out in the entertainment world when she was asked to choreograph the Indian segment of Thomas Mann’s Transposed Heads. Swati was also featured as the best performer in her own field in the CBS documentary called Sacred Arts which was televised in the USA.

Upon completing her education, Swati started working as an educator at the Brearley School, New York from 1991. She became a resident teacher at the school. There she founded a Sanskriti Center, which was a non-profit club that educated and promoted various Indian value based teachings. Swati remains one of the most influential figures in the Indo-American community and has been promoting Indian Culture in New York for over 20 years now.

Swati always wanted to expand her creativity into more fields and in 2012 she founded The Sadir Film Festival. This elite event takes place annually in Goa.
