Rupesh Paul is a Director and a Screenwriter in Indian Cinema. He was born in Amballur, Thrissur, Kerala. He is famous for his contributions to International cinema and Mollywood. He is the Chief Operating Officer as well as the founder of Rupesh Paul Productions Limited, which is a Film Production House.

His next work, The Vanishing Act, is based on the recent incident of the disappearance of Malaysian Flight MH370 mysteriously. It created hype in the media when the incident occurred. Cherthala, Alappuzha, Kerala is the birthplace of this director. His father’s name is M. C. Paul, who is an engineer by profession. His mother’s name is Rita Paul, who is a lecturer. In Thrissur, after completing his elementary education he went to the University of Madras to study Computer Engineering. He graduated from the University of Madras in 2001. He has been writing poems since he was ten years old.

Penkutty Oru Raashtramannu was his first ever collection of poems in Malayalam and it meant A Girl, A Nation Is. It was published by DC Books. In 1988 he was awarded the Changampuzha award for the best young poet for his collection of poems. In 1998 he was awarded the Mathrubhumi Kavita Puraskaram. When he was only twenty-two years old, he got the opportunity to work alongside M. Manoram as a Sub-Editor. Later in India Today he served as the Senior Correspondent. His wife’s name is Indu Menon. Rupesh and Indu have been blessed with a son and a daughter.

The Temptation between My Legs and One Can’t Step Into Same River Twice were his first two short movies which he made and released in the year 2008. The Temptation between My Legs was rejected by the Censor Board, unfortunately, but the latter one was showed at the Cannes Film Festival. It was even shown at the Florence Film Festival in the year 2010, after which he got International recognition and attention. After his success in Short Films he directed a Malayalam movie named My Mother’s Laptop in the year 2008. This movie was based on a short story written by S. Chandran. In the year 2010, he directed three more short films which were all critically acclaimed.
