Ram Ramesh Sharma is an Indian filmmaker who is known for his work in the Hindi film industry. He has directed several award-winning movies. Ram comes from Haryana. He pursued a course in Cinema studies, which he left mid-way to direct his first film. He set out to Kashmir to begin shooting for his first film. Drawing inspiration from his own experience while traveling to the north, he spun a short story. The narrative revolves around a conversation between three people who share their secrets with each other in Srinagar.
The film titled ‘Kaafiron Ki Namaaz’ was screened at the Ladakh International Film Festival, where it received wide critical acclaim and went on to win 4 awards. It was the recipient of Best Debut Director, Best Film, Best Screen Play, and Best Actor Award. Ram took his film to South Korea, where it was nominated for several awards at the Jeonju Film Festival and the Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival. He later moved to Mumbai, where he worked on other movies like ‘Awakenings (2015)’ and ‘Dhoop Haskar Boli (2019).’ Ram’s work took him to one of the largest cinematic platforms, the Dada Saheb Phalke Awards.
