Dr. Amit Ranjan Biswas is a screenwriter, director, and accomplished poet of Indian origin. He was born and raised in Kolkata, India. His passion for creative arts flourished as he trained and performed in the Indian classical dance form of Kathak, as well as writing two books of poetry, dance dramas, and plays, two of which achieved great success in India. After completing his medical studies in India, Amit moved to the UK in 1997 to further his career. However, his love for the arts continued, and he trained at the Raindance Independent Film School, where he honed his skills in writing and directing, and began making short films,

awareness films, and documentaries. He wrote the 2016 film - Bridge. Amit's work has received critical acclaim, and he has been recognized for his contributions to film and mental health. He received a grant from King’s Find and a Millennium Commission Leadership award from the Mayor of London for his film raising awareness on autism. His first short film, One Short Sleep Past, was shown at the Kolkata International Film Festival. In addition to his film work, Amit works as a consultant child and adolescent neuropsychiatrist and an ex-honorary senior lecturer. He leads a specialist multidisciplinary mental health team, where he is able to use his knowledge and experience to make a positive difference in people's lives.

Amit Ranjan Biswas is a writer, award-winning film director, and senior consultant child and adolescent neuropsychiatrist. For his education, Amit went to Calcutta University, King’s College London, and St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. He is a senior lecturer at the Queen Mary’s University of London. He also trains Cambridge and Oxford University undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has also won the prestigious King’s Fund Leadership Award. After all his educational qualifications, he made his debut in the film industry with Bridge in 2020. The film won several film festival awards worldwide. He has written multiple poems and plays as well. Apart from all these, he is also a TEDx speaker and travels globally.
