Mangesh Hadawale is an Indian director, writer, and film-maker.He is well known for “Tingya”, his debut Marathi film released in 2008, which received splendid success.His second film was “Dekh Indian Circus”, was his first Hindi film and was released in 2011.”Dekh Indian Circus”, received stunningly positive reviews from critics worldwide and was nominated for and won many awards like “National Film Award for Best Children’s Film”, “Audience Choice Award at the 16th Busan International Film festival” and much more. Mangesh was born in Rajauri, a small village in Maharashtra.The main occupation of his family was farming.He did his schooling from Government Marathi School and then moved to Pune to study theater.After completing his graduation in theater from the University of Pune, he moved to Mumbai to follow his zeal for films and started work on his first movie “Tingya”. After 5 years and 40 rejections, he finally found a production house. ”Tingya”, starring Sharad Goekar, Shahir Vitthal Umap, and Sunil Deo, was based on the life of a country boy and the affection he had for his bull.It focuses on the difficulties that are faced by Indian farmers.”Tingya”, was premiered at the Pune International Film festival and won the award for best film at Mumbai Academy of Movies. After “Tingya”, Mahesh went on to work for his first Hindi production, “Dekh Indian Circus”, which was bankrolled by Sundial Pictures.The film which had Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tannishtha Chatterjee as the lead focuses on the people of rural India, the struggles faced by them and how they have happiness in their lives with what they have.
